Some important Highways repairs for Spring/Summer 2021 for which I have pushed and which have been secured as part of the 'Challenge Fund 2' for Highways:
Badbury Lane (Ridgeway Ward):
Location: Through 's' bends west end of village
Condition: Significant micro wear and delamination.
Outcome: Full carriageway width surface course replacement for approx. 150m length through 'S' bends.
Badbury Lane (Ridgeway Ward):
Location: M4 overbridge to east village boundary
Condition: Significant micro wear and delamination.
Outcome: Full carriageway width surface course replacement for approx. 220m length.
Badbury Park: Day House Lane will be closed from Monday 10th August - this was originally envisaged in the consent for Badbury Park and is implemented as part of the works to upgrade Junction 15 of the M4 as part of the £17.2m project.
During the Junction 15 scheme I've arranged for a 'No Right Turn' from the Marlborough Road north-bound to prevent rat running from motorists seeking to avoid queues up to Jn15.
Signage will reflect this and I hope that once the M4 Junction 15 scheme is completed we can all use this beautiful lane for safer walking, cycling and horse-riding.
This should cut traffic into the village of Badbury by a large amount. A small amount of inconvenience, but far more people complain about the vehicles using the village.
